Ghana has received a vital boost in its fight against the spread of MPOX, as the World Health Organization (WHO) delivered essential medical supplies to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Tuesday.
The donation, which includes testing kits, comes amid a nationwide surge in MPOX cases and is expected to strengthen the country’s surveillance and response capabilities.
Health officials welcomed the support, noting the importance of early detection and containment in halting the disease’s spread.
Ghana joins other West African nations like Sierra Leone, alongside countries such as the DRC and Uganda, in responding to the growing public health challenge posed by MPOX.
