In this edition, we look at sustainable responses in the fight against HIV and AIDS, with the focus on African solutions, innovative financing mechanisms, and the essential role of human rights in addressing health challenges.
This is a timely and impactful discussion that aligns with the recently commemorated World AIDS Day 2024 message which stresses the importance of resilience and equity in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
World AIDS Day, commemorated annually on December 1 since the year 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection.
It is also an occasion to remember and mourn those who have died of the disease.
This year, the event was marked under the theme “Take the rights path: My health, my right!” a call to action to protect the health and rights of people living with HIV/AIDS.
