A delegation from the University of Education, The Gambia (UEG), recently embarked on a study tour to West Africa Democracy Radio (WADR) in Dakar, Senegal, as part of an insightful visit to the country.
The group included students, staff, and Dr. Philipa Idogho, a Nigerian academic administrator serving as technical aid staff for the Gambian institution.
This visit, organized by UEG’s catering department, aimed to immerse students in a new environment, expose them to diverse cultures and experiences, and highlight the vibrancy of a multipolar society fueled by individual and collective ambitions for national progress and societal prosperity.
Strategically located in Senegal, WADR was an essential stop during their trip.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Madam Agnes E.J. Thomasi, WADR’s Station Director. She engaged with them on the significance of journalism and its power to shape public opinion by delivering accurate and impactful information.
Dr. Idogho, as an education professional, emphasized the indispensable role of quality education in laying the groundwork for industrialized and productive societies, particularly within the framework of technical aid programs.
For the students, the highlight of the trip was touring the WADR facilities—a memorable experience they described as unforgettable.
