The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has urged Senegal to adopt a human rights approach in reviewing its Amnesty Law.
While welcoming efforts toward peace and reconciliation, OHCHR emphasized that perpetrators of human rights violations should not go unpunished.
This call was made during a high-level meeting organized by Senegal’s National Human Rights Commission on Thursday.
The review comes amid debates on balancing justice and national stability in the country.
