Violence against humanitarian workers has reached alarming levels, with over 300 aid workers killed in 2024, according to a recent UN report.

Joyce Msuya, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, told the Security Council that humanitarian workers are increasingly facing criminalization of their efforts, with many detained, interrogated, and accused of supporting terrorism simply for providing aid.

The surge in attacks highlights the growing dangers faced by those delivering critical assistance in conflict zones.
