At least two police officers have been killed and three others injured in a violent confrontation with members of the proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria, also known as the Shi’ite group, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The incident, according to a report by WADR’s Usman Umar, occurred at Wuse Junction, where police personnel were attacked with machetes, improvised explosive devices, and knives. Three police vehicles were set ablaze.
