Togo’s Consumer Association (TCA) has voiced strong opposition to the recent spike in electricity prices, which took effect on May 5 following an April directive.
The group says the new tariffs have led to an exponential rise in living costs, placing added pressure on already struggling households.
In a public appeal, the TCA is urging authorities to reverse the hike and reinstate the previous rates to ease the economic burden on consumers.
The development adds to growing public frustration over the country’s rising cost of living.
