Citizens and civil society groups in Togo have set July 25 for a memorial march to honour victims of the deadly June protests.
The original date was postponed due to the July 17 municipal elections. The new date aims to refocus public attention on the lives lost during the three-day unrest.
The June 26–28 demonstrations, largely mobilised by diaspora-based bloggers and influencers, called for the resignation of President Faure Gnassingbé.
Organisers say the memorial is not just about remembrance but a continued call for justice, accountability, and political change in the country.
