Togolese citizens are no longer completely barred from entering the United States following recent changes to U.S. visa restrictions.

Togo was previously placed on a list of restricted countries, but has since been removed, easing travel limitations.

Despite the development, the U.S. State Department has introduced new requirements for Togolese nationals seeking entry.

The measures include security deposits, which authorities say are part of tighter immigration controls.
