In Togo, the Senate has adopted two key bills during the second plenary sitting of its extraordinary session for 2026.
The first law focuses on harmonising the legal and fiscal framework governing the West African Gas Pipeline with those of partner countries, including Nigeria, Benin and Ghana.
The second legislation concerns the extension of the state of security emergency in the Savanes region.
Authorities say the measures are aimed at strengthening regional energy cooperation while maintaining security in areas facing persistent threats.
