In Togo, a coalition of opposition political parties and civil society organizations is calling for the resignation of President Faure Gnassingbé.
The group, known as The Framework for Reflection and Action for Change, held a press conference on Thursday in Lomé, urging citizens to engage in civil disobedience until the president steps down.
They criticized what they described as years of poor governance and repression under Gnassingbé’s leadership. The call signals a rising wave of political tension in the West African nation, where demands for democratic reforms continue to grow.
