The 9th Pan-African Congress has concluded in Lomé, Togo, after five days of high-level discussions focused on the future of Pan-Africanism across the continent. The gathering brought together political leaders, academics, activists, and members of the African and Afro-descendant diaspora.

Held from December 8 to 12, 2025, the congress examined Africa’s role in global governance, alongside key issues such as security, economic transformation, climate change, migration, and digital innovation. Participants emphasized the need for stronger continental solidarity in addressing shared challenges.

Discussions in the Togolese capital highlighted the urgency of renewing Pan-African ideals to reflect modern realities, particularly the aspirations of Africa’s youth and the demands of a rapidly changing global order.

The congress concluded with a set of recommendations calling for deeper African integration, reinforced institutions, and a collective commitment to building a more united, resilient, and self-determined continent.
