Togo has wrapped up the first-ever International Forum on Personal Data Protection, held in Lomé from July 28 to 31, 2025.
The four-day summit brought together data protection authorities and experts from Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, and host country Togo to address Africa’s growing digital security concerns.
Participants discussed key challenges facing the continent, including regulatory gaps, cross-border data flow, and citizen awareness around data privacy.
The event highlighted the urgent need for stronger collaboration and legal frameworks to safeguard personal information in an increasingly digital Africa.
