President Bola Tinubu has signed four major tax reform bills into law, ushering in what he describes as Nigeria’s most significant pro-people tax overhaul in decades.
The new legislation simplifies the tax system, consolidates existing tax statutes, and establishes the Nigeria Revenue Service to replace the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
Crucially, the laws offer relief to low-income earners and small businesses while addressing issues of multiple taxation and inefficiencies in collection.
President Tinubu says the move sends a strong message to investors that Nigeria is serious about economic growth and is open for business.
