In Togo, the adoption of a new constitution is still at the heart of the debate.
The National Assembly is due to begin a second reading of the text at the request of President Faure Gnassingbé.
The West African Civil Society Forum, FOSCAO, which brings together around a thousand organisations from the fifteen ECOWAS member countries, is critical of Togo’s constitutional reform.
Foscao is calling for the people of Togo to be involved, even if it means organising a referendum as required by the Togolese constitution.
