The Malian transitional government is implementing yet a drastic measure in the country to end terrorism and other related activities.

This pertains to asset freezes and financial sanctions on several jihadists and rebel commanders operating in the country.

Bamako says the decision is part of the anti-terrorism fight to restore peace and restore the authority of the State.
