Health authorities in Gambia have initiated a three-day nationwide polio vaccination campaign targeting over 400,000 children under five. Although The Gambia remains polio-free, the campaign was prompted by the detection of the poliovirus in sewage in the greater Banjul area.
The second phase of the campaign is scheduled for December.
