There is simmering tension between Liberia and the US, as Liberian lawmaker, Moima Briggs-Mensah, is calling for the recall of United States Chargé D’Affaires to Monrovia, Catherine Rodriguez for walking out of the official program marking Liberia’s 177th Independence Day.
The U.S diplomat and her entire delegation walked out of the ceremony after the Independence Day Orator—Dr. Robtel Neajai Pailey accused Washington of taking more from Liberia than Liberians have received.
