Tensions are high in Ghana’s Binduri district after two police officers were ambushed and killed by suspected armed robbers on April 13.
The officers, traveling in plain clothes on motorbikes, were shot and had their bikes stolen, according to police.
On the same day, gunmen killed and burned an unidentified man, intensifying fear among locals.
Authorities have since imposed a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, banned weapons and motorcycle movement, and restricted the wearing of smocks to curb unrest.
