A Swiss national has been kidnapped by armed men in Niger’s northern Agadez region.

The abduction took place on Sunday, April 13, marking the second kidnapping of a foreigner in the area this year.

An Austrian woman was similarly taken in January, raising fresh concerns about security in the region.

Authorities have launched an investigation, but no group has claimed responsibility so far.
