In this episode, host Sankulleh Janko is joined by two sports experts to unpack the controversial decision by the Confederation of African Football to strip the Senegal national football team of their AFCON 2025 title, awarding a 3–0 victory to the Morocco national football team.
The CAF Appeal Board overturned an earlier ruling, citing regulatory breaches by Senegal—sparking outrage in Dakar. Senegal’s government has rejected the decision as “deeply unjust” and plans to challenge it at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, while also calling for an independent investigation into CAF.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe maintains the Appeal Board acted independently and says the body will respect any outcome from CAS.
Was this justice—or a crisis for African football?
