Sierra Leone’s Health Ministry has confirmed 26 new MPOX cases, bringing the national total to 176 since January 2025.
The country is dealing with 98 active cases, with 76 recoveries and two deaths recorded so far, according to the National Public Health Agency.
Authorities are working with Liberia, Guinea, and Côte d’Ivoire to strengthen cross-border health checks and surveillance systems.
Vaccination efforts have begun, targeting frontline workers and high-risk groups, in a bid to contain the spread of the virus.
