Following a closely contested general election, President Julius Maada Bio has been swiftly inaugurated into office, merely an hour after being declared the winner.
Contending with his primary rival Samura Kamara of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), President Bio secured a resounding victory with a total of 418,670 votes.
This mandate the electoral commission said allows him to serve a second term as President, extending his tenure by another five years.
