The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) launched a crucial training program for 73 United Nations drivers, focusing on defensive driving techniques and first aid. The training aims to enhance inter-agency collaboration between the SLP and the UN.
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Aiah Edward Samadia, speaking on behalf of the Inspector General, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to train UN personnel, highlighting the shared objectives of development, peace, and security that unite both organizations despite their distinct roles.
DIG Samadia underscored the importance of the training, noting the extensive support the UN has provided to the SLP’s reform initiatives since the end of the civil war.
