In Sierra Leone, chiefs of staff from ECOWAS member states have been meeting since Tuesday to discuss the future of the regional standby force.

The high-level discussions focus on plans to increase troop contributions and enhance operational readiness.

Military leaders are also deliberating on measures to strengthen counter-terrorism mechanisms across the sub-region.
