In a move demonstrating state clemency, Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has granted a presidential pardon to more than 300 prisoners on the eve of the Tabaski holiday.

This initiative aims to allow the beneficiaries to reintegrate into working life and join their families for the celebrations. However, the decision has sparked criticism due to the handling of prisoners’ personal data.
