President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, on Wednesday, asked the government, particularly the Minister of the Interior, to continue with the implementation of the national strategy to fight against drugs.

President Faye further asked for the strengthening of awareness on illicit drug use among the population, particularly young people.
President Diomaye Faye also took the opportunity of the celebration of World Day Against Drug Abuse and Trafficking, which falls om June 26, to congratulate the defense forces and security authors for their remarkable performances in recent months.

The Head of State also urged the government to undertake, without delay and in an inclusive manner, the rapid revision and updating of the Drug Code.
