Senegal has received demining equipment worth two billion CFA francs from Japan to support peace efforts in Casamance.
The donation is expected to accelerate the removal of landmines in the region, which has long suffered from conflict and displacement.
Peace advocates, including RASALAO, have welcomed the move and urged the government to prioritize reintegration of affected communities.
The support comes amid renewed calls for a lasting resolution to the decades-old crisis in southern Senegal.
