Authorities in Senegal are continuing investigations into a transnational criminal network accused of exploiting minors and committing multiple offences.
Over the weekend, twelve suspects were arrested by gendarmes in the Keur Massar district on the outskirts of Dakar.
The suspects appeared before a court on Monday to face charges including acts against nature, voluntary transmission of HIV, and endangering the lives of others.
The case has triggered widespread public debate in Senegal, where homosexuality remains criminalised under national law.
