Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on Friday inaugurated a new onion processing plant in Ross-Béthio, in the Saint-Louis region—a major milestone for the country’s agricultural transformation agenda.
The facility, set up by Saf Ingrédients, aims to strengthen the link between local farmers and the agri-food industry. President Faye praised the project for creating jobs and ensuring stable incomes for farmers through a contractual model that enhances access to finance.
The initiative aligns with Senegal’s broader goals of industrializing agriculture, improving food sovereignty, and building economic resilience through local value addition.
