Senegal’s National Agency for Statistics and Demography has released its first major survey on violence against women — and the findings are troubling.
According to the report, one-third of Senegalese women experienced physical, sexual, psychological, or economic violence between December 2023 and February 2024.
The data highlights especially high vulnerability among young girls and in specific regions, underscoring the need for stronger protection systems and targeted interventions.
