Senegal officially inaugurated its first military vehicle assembly plant on Tuesday, marking a significant step toward the country’s defense industry development.
The facility, established through a partnership with South Korea, positions Senegal to locally assemble and maintain military vehicles, reducing reliance on imports.
Although the state does not yet fully own the plant, officials say its inauguration represents a milestone in industrial and technological self-sufficiency.
Government representatives emphasized the factory’s potential to boost local expertise, create jobs, and strengthen national security capabilities.
