The Africa Facts Summit wrapped up in Dakar, Senegal, with a powerful call to preserve democracy by ensuring integrity in information sharing.

Over 200 fact-checking organizations, journalists, and media professionals gathered for the fourth edition of the summit, which centered on disinformation in times of conflict, gender narratives, and climate change.

Speakers emphasized that misinformation and disinformation are threats not only to public trust but also to democratic governance.

The summit ended with a collective commitment to safeguard Africa’s information sovereignty and strengthen resilience against the spread of falsehoods.
