In Senegal, the Forces Vives coalition, known as F24, has renewed its demand for the repeal of the amnesty law enacted during the tenure of former President Macky Sall.
At a press conference on Wednesday, F24 Coordinator Mamadou Mbodj denounced the law, which was adopted by Parliament on March 6, 2024. He argued that it unjustifiably shields perpetrators of violence and vandalism from 2021 to 2024, allowing them to escape accountability.
The movement, which champions democracy and civil liberties, insists that repealing the amnesty law is crucial for justice and preventing impunity for the violent acts observed in recent years.
