As Senegal concludes its legislative elections, former parliamentarian Oumar Sy has emphasized the importance of collaboration within the incoming 15th National Assembly to ensure progress towards the country’s 2050 transformational agenda.
In an interview with WADR News, Sy expressed concerns that political divisions could hinder the implementation of critical national development projects. He urged both majority and minority members of the new assembly to prioritize national interests over partisan conflicts.
Specifically, Sy called on Prime Minister and Pastef party leader Ousmane Sonko to adopt a measured tone in his political discourse, emphasizing that national cohesion is essential for meaningful progress.
Sy’s appeal comes as Senegal faces heightened political tensions, with many looking to the incoming assembly for solutions to pressing socio-economic challenges.
