In Senegal, customs officials have made another major drug bust in the southern region, seizing more than 100 kilograms of cocaine valued at nearly 10 billion CFA francs. The interception was announced by the Regional Customs Directorate for the South.
According to authorities, the operation was led by the Kalifourou Commercial Brigade under the Kolda Subdivision. Officers discovered the cocaine — packaged into 100 slabs — hidden in secret compartments built inside the walls of a Toyota Tundra vehicle.
This latest seizure underscores Senegal’s growing role as a key transit point for international drug trafficking networks operating across West Africa.
Customs officials have vowed to intensify surveillance and operations along border routes, reaffirming their commitment to dismantling criminal networks threatening national and regional security.
