Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has unveiled a sweeping cabinet reshuffle, introducing new ministers and restructuring key portfolios to, in his words, “strengthen governance and meet citizens’ expectations.”
Among the most striking changes is the appointment of Me Bamba Cissé, Sonko’s former defense lawyer in the Adji Sarr case, as Minister of the Interior. The move highlights the Prime Minister’s trust in allies with legal expertise to handle sensitive national responsibilities.
At the Ministry of Justice, Ousmane Diagne has been replaced by Yassine Fall, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Integration. Sonko said the change reflects his government’s commitment to restoring confidence in the judiciary.
This reshuffle is the most significant since Sonko took office, consolidating his influence while signaling a renewed emphasis on justice, infrastructure, and diplomacy in Senegal’s governance agenda.
