Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko is in Turkey this week to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries. During a high-level meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday, both leaders expressed their commitment to boosting bilateral trade to the tune of one billion dollars.
The visit, which is part of Sonko’s ongoing international outreach, has already yielded results. Several agreements have been signed, signaling a renewed push to deepen cooperation in key sectors.
The Ankara-Dakar partnership is expected to open more avenues for investment, trade, and development, further anchoring Turkey’s role as a strategic partner in West Africa.
