Renal patients in Ghana have shown cautious optimism regarding a recent announcement that dialysis sessions will be free under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) starting December 1, 2024. The announcement was made by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer and Vice President of Ghana, who shared that this decision follows a successful pilot program offering free dialysis for patients under 18 and those aged 60 and above.
