‘President should also pay tax’ says Ghana’s constitution review committee

A Constitution Review Consultative Committee put together by the ministry of Ghana’s Minitry of Parliamentary Affairs has recommended the amendment of the Constitution for Presidents to pay tax.

The committee wants Article 68 (5) of the constitution scrapped to impose on Presidents a duty to pay tax on his salary and emoluments as an example to the rest of the citizenry. Other recommendations made by the committee is the number of MPs to be capped at 277.
