In Côte d’Ivoire, President Alassane Ouattara has formally inducted his party’s national campaign leadership ahead of the October 25 presidential election.

At the ceremony held Thursday in Abidjan, Ouattara urged his team to conduct a “civilized, responsible, and effective” campaign one that reflects the real needs of Ivorians and offers tangible solutions for the next five years.

The President, who also heads the ruling RHDP party, expressed confidence in his re-election bid, even as the opposition continues to accuse him of pursuing an unconstitutional fourth term.
