President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
In his place, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno has been named Acting IGP, per a statement from the government.
The decision aligns with Articles 91 and 202 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, following consultation with the Council of State.
Dr. Dampare, who served since August 2021, will be succeeded by his former deputy.
