In his final New Year’s address as Ghana’s Head of State, President Nana Akufo-Addo expressed optimism for the country’s future, despite the challenges of his term, especially those triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Akufo-Addo, who will hand over to President-elect John Dramani Mahama on January 7, 2025, reflected on the key achievements of his administration while acknowledging the economic difficulties faced by Ghanaians.

The outgoing president emphasized that the reforms implemented during his tenure were essential for securing the nation’s long-term growth. He called for unity, peace, and social cohesion as Ghana looks to brighter days ahead.
