Côte d’Ivoire’s opposition party PPA-CI has condemned the exclusion of its leader, Laurent Gbagbo, from the provisional electoral roll.
Gbagbo was convicted in the BCEAO robbery case linked to the 2010-2011 post-electoral crisis, making him ineligible to vote.
His supporters allege a political plot to bar him from the October presidential election and are calling for mass mobilization.
The controversy adds to growing tensions ahead of the polls, with the opposition demanding electoral reforms.
