In Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Party (PDCI) has postponed its planned nationwide protest initially set for this Wednesday. The demonstration will now take place on Saturday.
According to a party statement, the decision followed a meeting with Abidjan’s prefectural authorities, prompting a change in schedule.
The protest is aimed at denouncing the permanent removal of PDCI leader Tidjane Thiam from the electoral roll ahead of the October presidential election.
The party says it remains committed to defending democratic rights and will continue to mobilize supporters peacefully.
