Patients across Ghana are facing delays and disruptions due to a nationwide strike by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA).

The strike stems from the Ministry of Health’s failure to implement a revised Collective Agreement signed in May 2024, according to the association.

Despite being declared illegal by the National Labour Commission, the industrial action continues.

Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has appealed to the striking workers to return to work in the interest of public health.
