We continue in our series of African storytelling.

This edition of the program, we will be looking at the story of Sango who was a notable strong ruler and magician who became king of the Oyo Empire after succeeding his elder brother who was perceived to be a “weak ruler”.

In the vibrant kingdom of Oyo in southwestern Nigeria, there lived a great and powerful king named Sango.

His legend would grow to transcend his mortal existence, transforming him into a revered deity in the Yoruba pantheon.
