The Open Society Foundations (OSF) is warning of a growing disconnect between democratic governance and the lived realities of citizens across Africa.
Launching its latest report, The Nexus Between Democratic Governance and Economic Justice, in Accra on Monday, September 15, 2025, OSF noted that many governments are failing to turn democratic promises into meaningful development.
The report urges African leaders to redefine governance by linking democratic principles to real progress in people’s lives, stressing that economic justice and accountability must be at the heart of the continent’s democratic future.
