In Liberia, at least five opposition members have been dismissed from the government for reportedly using their social media pages, particularly Facebook, to criticize current President Joseph Boakai and other government officials.

The five opposition figures, all of the main opposition; Congress for Democratic Change of former President George Weah, were employed at the Monrovia City Government, otherwise known as the Monrovia City Corporation.
