A high-level delegation from the Open Society Foundations (OSF) wrapped up its Africa tour in Dakar, Senegal, with key engagements focused on governance and social justice. The team included OSF Chair Dr. Alexander Soros, President Binaifer Nowrojee, and other senior executives.

In Dakar, the OSF team met with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and his cabinet to discuss ways of strengthening transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance in Senegal. The visit marks renewed OSF commitment following major internal reforms.

OSF’s restructuring aims to better respond to modern global and African challenges, including insecurity, rights violations, climate change, and economic instability. Dr. Soros said his meeting with President Faye reflected shared goals for democratic progress.

The delegation also held similar talks in Ghana, where they met former President John Mahama to explore partnerships on democracy building, socio-economic empowerment, and rights protection across West Africa.
